May be the most uttered word in the recent times – RECESSION.
But how many of us are really facing recession in our business, be it sales or service? How to calculate the effect of global recession on our business?
Please have a look into this attached presentation and let us have your comments.
I have recently read a book titled “The Seasons of your Career”. I just thought that I can share a few points from this book in the form a TAMIL presentation along with a questionnaire to be filled. Please go through the presentation. (It will take quite a few minutes for the PDF to load). From slide 15 onwards you will see questions for which you need to simply answer as YES or NO.
You can keep a print copy of the attached file (4 seasons questionnaire.pdf) and mark you answers.
Arrive at the totals and find out where you are in your career stage.
Some of you will be using TALLY and may use the option of exporting some data as a EXCEL WORKSHEET.
REQUIREMENT:
A worksheet containing party’s names and outstanding amounts is exported from TALLY. The name of the parties and their mobile phone number is available with me in another worksheet called PHONE.
The data exported from TALLY is placed in the columns A to G. Now I want a simple formula that could fetch the mobile number of these parties in column H.
Problems: 1. The PHONE worksheet may not contain phone numbers for a few parties. 2. The name of parties may not be in alphabetical order in the worksheet exported by Tally as well in my PHONE worksheet.
Imagine that you have around 4000 cllients. Will it be possible to switch to PHONE worksheet and use the FIND option to find the mobile number of the party as and when required?
The INDEX & MATCH function in Excel offers a very simple solution. If you are interested to know how, please send a mail to geta.erode@gmail.com. We will send a sample worksheet.
In many organizations, existing employees are promoted to MANAGER levels, as it has got many advantages. However lack of training to the NEW MANAGERS may cause some problems to the employee as well as to the organization.
Please find attached a simple presentation which could help your new managers.
Please check this You Tube presentation in Tamil, which is self explanatory. Please switch on your speakers, as this presentation contains audio information in Tamil.
I am learning a new thing. It’s LINUX. In particular the debian-dose of LINUX called UBUNTU ver. 8.10. It is really amazing to see a good and easy OS like linux. I am a starter in this area, with an intention to learn more and more.
However, I just thought that I can share something that I have created with whatever knowledge I have gathered in Ubuntu. Infact, with the stuff I have understood so far, I can handle a session for about 3 hours on basics of LINUX.
If you are interested please go through the attached PDF and let me know your feedback.
All of us require communication skills. Communication skill – is not – just an ability to speak well or write well. It is a combination of many aspects, including how you foresee something and how you predict something before you create communication on that. The following quiz will give you an idea about how good you are in communication.
Read all the statements and choose the right option that describes your way of working. Jot down the relative number.

Excellent! You understand your role as a communicator, both when you send messages, and when you receive them. You anticipate problems, and you choose the right ways of communicating. People respect you for your ability to communicate clearly, and they appreciate your listening skills.

You’re a capable communicator, but you sometimes experience communication problems. Take the time to think about your approach to communication, and focus on receiving messages effectively, as much as on sending them. This will help you improve.

Please find attached a PDF narrating a story. You might have had similar experiences. Learning from experiences require thinking from others perspective also. Let us give a try to find how good we are in that.
You can also find a questionnaire containing around 10 questions framed on this story. You can answer this questionnaire as an individual. If you conduct regular staff meetings in your organization, then you can show this to your staff members. Divide them into two groups. The first group should come out with answers while the second group should enhance those answers as well as post their objections, if any.
This kind of a debate will be useful for developing analytical as well as logical thinking skills.
